The work offers a renewed experience of space and time, a philosophical and poetic journey through time. It is an open door to imagination and dreams, which the public, whatever their age or background, gladly walks through.
More than 10,000 people have already stepped into The L∞p. They found the time, travelled through space, and marked the trajectory of this arrow of time with their presence and their movements.
Between the drops of water of the ocean and the stardust of the cosmos, when and where could the arrow of time have been shot? This arrow is the one Arthur Eddington introduced in 1927 to describe, in general relativity, what each of us experiences every day as the uninterrupted flow of time passing from the past to the future through the present.
The L∞p appears as a large black cylinder set gently on the Passage des Arpètes, above the vast machine hall of the Ateliers des Capucins. Parting the slats of its discreet entrance, visitors break through the screen and plunge into the time of this experience. For one loop or several, they are invited to move through space to interact with the stories, change their course, follow the arrow or go back in time.
Written and designed by Ikse Maître, The L∞p offers a collective multisensory experience that leads, each time and for each interaction, to a unique story composed with the public by the real-time 3D of Matthieu Courgeon, the 2D-3D graphics of Gaële Misiak and the music of Vincent Hulot. The L∞p reveals a universe where the border between art and science absent-mindedly fades away.

The L∞p is a collective creation by des Vues de l’esprit, produced by La métonymie. The L∞p was developed at Le sas, the science-art-society group at Université Paris-Saclay, in collaboration with Cervval, a software engineering company.
The work is built with the cutting edge of digital art, which allows a new kind of writing that the public itself comes to renew. It follows that Renaissance spirit which runs through the arts and the sciences. It is part of the research of Le sas and of the Chaire art-science Paris-Saclay led by Ikse Maître: 360° immersion (Artcast4D), virtual reality (Memory Box) and the public space (Ariadne's Fibres).
